Would rather one big loop rather than two personally but generally a steady run and enjoyed it for my first half marathon attempt

These 200m random loop was very confusing, it looked like you were running to the end but then had to take a sharp left. Might as well have run down the side of the field.

Seemed well organised at the beginning with energy gels and a group warm up. The course mainly went around streets and towards the end when the runners are more spaced out it got difficult to tell if you are going the right way. The water every 5k felt like too far, we were lucky it was overcast because on a hot day we would have been severely dehydrated. Also the course layout at the end needs to change because there was a small loop at the end near the finish line which wasn’t obvious and people were crossing the line without realising there was more to go.

Could do with more toilets & results earlier

Great stewards. It’s a bit weird running on open roads (stopping for traffic etc) but they’ve chosen the route well so it happens rarely.

I was able to sign up the evening before and it was easy and efficient to pick up my race pack. I finished more quickly than I had planned. A gentleman who completed the course shortly behind me asked me if I was in the V50 catergory, as I won’t be for another decade, I can only imagine the prizes are pretty good.

I have ran 10 half marathons this year, and this was my absolute favourite. The marshalls were superb and very encouraging! The route was lovely. Also, Capri sun & Kitkat at the finish - would’ve run faster if I knew that was waiting for me!

Positive: Enthusiastic marshalls

Negative: Latter stages of half marathon routed through busy pedestrian streets (particularly High Street Wimbledon) forcing runners on to the road. Given that roads are generally speaking not closed for this event, I would recommend avoiding busier roads such as this in future.

The event was brilliant. Improvements wise, I'd suggest a few more water stations, maybe with some sweets. Thank you :-)

Places to hide from wind and rain until race starts

Would be nice to have energy gels for the Half-Marathon runners

A week on vacation in London from Florida USA and decided might as well run a race while here. There were four to pick from and I am happy I picked this race. Well put together. Was freeeezzzing, but nothing you could have done
